| Q. | I pay annual dues to WHS. Why should I make a contribution to WHSF? | A. | Like most membership organizations, WHS dues cover the costs of basic services. In order to maintain the commitment to the profession and initiate new educational programs, voluntary contributions are necessary to extend the reach of WHSF. Because these programs have educational and charitable missions, contributions to the Wound Healing Society Foundation are tax-deductible. |
Q. |
Can I designate my gift for a specific program or area such as wound healing research? |
A. |
Yes, the contribution can be designated for the greatest good (general operating) or ear-marked for a specific program. |
Q. |
I volunteer on a committee. Isn't my time a contribution in-kind? |
A. |
WHS and WHSF are as strong as their volunteer base and members provide their time, expertise and knowledge to help benefit all. Contributions to WHSF are essential in building a strong foundation in this new century. |
Q. |
I would like to include the Foundation in my will. Can I receive acknowledgement of the bequest before my death? |
A. |
Absolutely. Once the Foundation is officially notified that it is a beneficiary of life insurance or is stipulated in a will or trust, donors will be publicly acknowledged. |
Q. |
Is is possible to make a philanthropic pledge on a yearly basis and pay it out during the course of the year? |
A. |
Yes. For some paying their pledges on a semi-annual or quarterly basis is preferred to one major gift. Foundation staff provide reminder notices when a pledge is due. |
